My Good Pie connects you to the people and places we all share. We believe that if you understand the backstory of where your food comes from, you’ll feel more connected with it and be inspired to create new memories there.

We have created a restaurant where everyone can come together to share in delicious and comfortable foods.

ABOUT THE FOUNDERS

Get to know your local My Good Pie Lady. Yasmin Points started my good Pie in 2018 in honor of her Mother Stevie, Grand Mother Myrtle and children.

Yasmin was joined later on by her friend Chef Naz Sheikh who was the lead of Emirates Airline Indian food division. Naz has worked in many well know and notable kitchens and has taken the level of our culinary quest to the next.

In the beginning, there was pie, and it was gooood…

“My Good Pie” short for Myrtle’s Good Chicken and Pie Shack”, is a Halal fried chicken and pie shop. We use locally sourced and halal meat because it equals high quality which ensures we are serving the best products we can.

Who is Myrtle anyway? A girl named Myrtle from the North Carolina countryside with a big passion for politics and baking met a big city Sailor from New York named Moses and they instantly fell in love. They got married and settled in a small town in North Carolina, Statesville where Myrtle’s family was from. Moses went on to study and become a medical Doctor. Unfortunately at those times in that area only one colored Doctor at a time was allow to practice and serve the colored community so Moses being to late to the game was unable to use his medical degree and secure a good living for his family and ended up being janitor. Myrtle who was known allover for her delicious pies however was undeterred and began to use her baking as a means to support her family.

She would sell them in a basket on the side of the road, and people would come from far and wide to get a taste of her good pie!

Myrtle was my great Grandmother and she passed on her love for baking and set a high standard for culinary tastes with her family recipes. She inspired me and my mother to share love and show others that all things good come from the heart. What started with a pie began a movement to not only share goodness but show that for those who believe they can provide and subside with something as little as a pie.
